Job Title: M365 Purview Compliance Design Architect
Location: Sheffield / Hybrid
About the Client:
Our client is a global IT, consulting, and business process services company, delivering innovative solutions to enterprise customers worldwide. They are seeking two experienced M365 Purview Compliance Design Architects to lead enterprise-scale compliance and data governance initiatives.
Role Overview:
You will define target-state architectures for Microsoft Purview, map regulatory obligations to enforceable policies, and deliver scalable, automated, enterprise-wide retention and records management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement Purview retention, records management, and eDiscovery at enterprise scale.
• Map regulatory obligations (MiFID II, SEC/FINRA, GDPR, UK DPA) to enforceable Purview policies.
• Build event-based retention scenarios and integrate with data lifecycle and disposition workflows.
• Define Mailbox/Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive retention strategies and litigation hold patterns.
• Develop retention labels, auto-classification, trainable classifiers, adaptive scopes, and disposition reviews.
• Integrate with Microsoft eDiscovery Premium, Audit, DLP, aligning with Legal Hold and case management.
• Engineer tenant-wide scaling, performance optimization, and differential targeting by region/legal entity.
• Automate via PowerShell/Microsoft Graph, and implement telemetry/alerting (Sentinel/KQL).
• Create runbooks, controls, reporting, and contribute to RACI and data classification schemas.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 8–10+ years in Microsoft 365/Purview compliance at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on experience with Purview Information Governance, Records Management, Retention Policies, eDiscovery Premium, Litigation Hold, and Audit.
• Strong knowledge of Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams data architecture.
• PowerShell/Microsoft Graph scripting and CI/CD experience for policy artifacts.
• Regulatory knowledge: FCA/PRA, MiFID II, SEC/FINRA, GDPR/UK DPA.
• Experience scaling tenants with 100k+ users in regulated environments.
• Mandatory: Microsoft Exchange Server Administration
