Role description
Contract Opportunity – Machine Learning Engineer (Production ML) 🚨
I’m working with a specialist consultancy supporting a large organisation as it scales its machine learning capability from a handful of models to hundreds in production.
They’re looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer who enjoys turning models into reliable, governed, production-ready systems, not just experimentation.
Key details:
£550 per day (Inside IR35)
Remote (UK-based)
Start ASAP
What you’ll be doing
• Taking machine learning models from experimentation into production at scale
• Designing and implementing repeatable patterns for training, deployment, monitoring and retraining
• Working in a Databricks-based environment with MLflow at the core
• Partnering closely with data scientists to operationalise their models
• Ensuring models are observable, auditable and governed, not just deployed
• Improving processes, standards and documentation to support high-volume model delivery
• Working hands-on alongside a mixed consultancy and client engineering team
What we’re looking for
• Strong hands-on experience as a Machine Learning Engineer in production environments
• Experience operationalising multiple ML models, not just one or two
• Solid experience with MLflow and modern ML platforms (Databricks, SageMaker, Vertex AI, etc.)
• Strong Python engineering background
• Experience with CI/CD, orchestration and cloud platforms
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset — focused on “working in production” rather than research
• Comfortable working directly with clients and operating independently
Why this role
You’ll play a key role in shaping how machine learning is delivered at scale across an organisation moving rapidly into production ML. High impact, real ownership, and a chance to influence how ML engineering is done properly.
If you’re a Machine Learning Engineer looking for a contract where you can make a tangible impact, drop me a message or comment below.
