Role description
The Manager, Global Cost Reporting is a key leader within the Finance organization, partnering closely with global, cross-functional teams to support the continued growth and scalability of HelloFresh’s U.S. distribution network. This role blends controllership, analytics, and transformation. You will own end-to-end weekly cost reporting, drive continuous improvement through automation and modernization, and deliver insights that enable cost-effective, data-driven decision-making. Success in this role requires comfort navigating complex and ambiguous problems, strong financial judgment, and the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders.
Job Responsibilities Include
• Own and continuously evolve end-to-end weekly cost reporting models through close partnership with Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Data Analytics, and Finance stakeholders
• Serve as a subject matter expert on financial and operational cost data, clearly communicating key drivers, assumptions, and risks to support business decisions
• Lead financial review and controllership discussions with business partners to ensure cost transparency, accuracy, and accountability
• Define reporting methodologies and build automated financial models, recurring analytics, ad hoc analyses, and operational KPIs using tools such as Excel, SQL, KNIME, and Tableau
• Champion automation and technology adoption, including the implementation and project management of new tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks
• Identify and lead process improvement and transformation initiatives, partnering with stakeholders to scope opportunities, define objectives, and structure execution plans
• Collaborate with data owners and technology teams to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, automated, and decision-ready
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent within the cost reporting team
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related analytical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in roles requiring financial analysis and reporting
• 3+ years of experience collecting, analyzing, and managing quantitative data to drive business improvement and cost reduction
• Advanced data analysis skills, including SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and performance interpretation
• 2+ years of experience hiring, leading, and developing teams
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while providing clear, steady leadership during periods of change
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA and/or professional certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent), with experience in cost reporting, supply chain, or food, grocery, manufacturing, or e-commerce environments
• Experience building financial dashboards and advanced analyses using Python and/or KNIME
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build credibility with senior leadership
• Ability to travel up to 25% within the U.S.
