Role description

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Manufacturing Data & AI Engineer (Contract) to support the development of intelligent manufacturing systems, scalable data architecture, and AI-enabled solutions across manufacturing operations.
In this role, you’ll build the data foundation that powers operational reporting, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to develop scalable data pipelines, integrate manufacturing systems, and enable advanced analytics and AI initiatives that support the future of autonomous vehicle production.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with strong data engineering skills and a passion for using data and AI to improve manufacturing operations.
As a Manufacturing Data & AI Engineer (Contract), You'll
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouse solutions that support manufacturing reporting and analytics.
• Build and manage trusted, analytics-ready datasets that provide visibility into manufacturing performance, quality, and operational metrics.
• Integrate data from SAP HANA, SAP MES, production systems, quality systems, and other enterprise data sources.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify operational challenges and develop data, analytics, and AI-driven solutions that improve manufacturing performance.
• Develop and optimize Python-based data processing workflows and advanced SQL queries to transform and analyze complex datasets.
• Establish data quality, governance, validation, and monitoring processes to ensure reliable and consistent manufacturing data.
• Support the evolution of manufacturing operations data architecture to enable advanced analytics, automation, and AI capabilities.
Requirements
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role with significant data responsibilities
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL development, and enterprise-scale data warehousing
• Experience designing scalable data architectures and building analytics-ready datasets for operational reporting and decision-making
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and modern data platforms
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and monitoring principles
• This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SAP HANA, SAP MES, or other manufacturing execution and enterprise resource planning systems
• Experience developing data models and architectures that support AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial operations, robotics, autonomous systems, or supply chain environments
• AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, or a comparable cloud certification
• Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions
