Title: Manufacturing Data & AI Engineer Job Type: Contract (W2 Only) Contract Length: 6+ months Pay Range: $60 – $65/hr Start Date: ASAP Location: Onsite - Foster City, CA About The Opportunity Our client, a leader in the autonomous vehicle and robotics industry, is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Data & AI Engineer to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves supporting the development of intelligent manufacturing systems, scalable data architecture, and AI-enabled operational solutions across Manufacturing Operations. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables This role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes that support Manufacturing Operations reporting and decision-making. • Build and manage curated data models and analytics-ready datasets, ensuring a trusted source of performance, quality, and operational metrics. • Integrate data from enterprise and manufacturing systems, including SAP HANA, SAP MES, and other production databases. • Identify operational challenges and partner with stakeholders to develop AI-enabled solutions, analytics tools, and automation opportunities to improve manufacturing performance. • Establish robust data governance, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of manufacturing data assets. Required Skills & Experience: We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have: • 4–6 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Software Engineering with significant data responsibilities. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL development, and enterprise-scale data warehousing solutions. • Working knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and modern data platforms, with a strong understanding of data quality and governance principles. • Experience translating complex business challenges into scalable technical solutions through data, analytics, and AI technologies. • Preferred: Experience with SAP HANA or SAP MES, and experience supporting manufacturing, robotics, or supply chain environments. W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
