Role description
Position Title: Product Master Data Analyst Location: Remote - Must sit within the US Job Type: 6-Month Contract, Potential to Extend Compensation: $50-$65/Hour Day‑to‑Day Role Overview A client is seeking a Product Master Data Analyst to support business‑led cleanup and remediation of product master data that directly impacts supply chain planning, scheduling, and execution. In this role, you will work hands‑on within product master data systems to identify, prioritize, correct, and validate data issues that degrade planning accuracy, increase planner workload, or introduce operational risk. Using existing analytics, exception reports, and planning outputs, you will evaluate data through a planning behavior lens—understanding not just what is wrong, but how it affects demand planning, supply planning, and execution outcomes. Day to day, you will make targeted master data updates aligned to business definitions and governance standards, partner with planners and data owners when decisions or clarification are required, and validate that changes improve planning feasibility and stability. You will assess downstream impacts to scheduling, procurement, and manufacturing, escalate risks when broader alignment is needed, and maintain clear documentation of changes, rationale, and results. Success in this role is measured by improved planning outcomes, reduced exceptions, and increased confidence in product master data. Key Responsibilities • Identify product master data issues using analytics, exception reports, and operational outputs • Focus on planning‑critical attributes such as: • BOM structures and completeness • Product hierarchies and classifications • Planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, sourcing rules, phase‑in/phase‑out logic) • Units of measure and conversions • Prioritize data cleanup based on planning criticality, operational risk, and supply chain impact • Perform hands‑on master data corrections in source systems aligned to planning intent and governance • Validate that changes improve planning outcomes (reduced exceptions, improved plan feasibility) • Monitor for and investigate unintended downstream impacts • Document changes, validation steps, and planning impact with a clear audit trail • Communicate progress, findings, and risks in business‑ and planning‑focused language Qualifications • Experience working with product master data in a supply chain or planning environment • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, or scheduling concepts • Ability to interpret data issues through a planning and operational impact lens • Hands‑on experience updating master data in ERP or planning systems • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with planners, data owners, and SMEs • Ability to prioritize work based on business impact and adjust as conditions change
