Media Operations and Ad Technology Manager

We are seeking a Freelance Media Operations and Ad Technology Manager to support global media operations, ad tech integrations, and quality assurance across web and mobile marketing ecosystems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in ad operations, tracking implementation, QA testing, and technical documentation. The position will play a key role in improving campaign execution, strengthening measurement practices, and building scalable operational processes across a complex digital marketing environment.
This role is centered on media QA, technical implementation, and operational excellence, while also supporting core ad operations responsibilities. The manager will oversee campaign trafficking, conversion tracking, audience enablement, and troubleshooting across a range of advertising and analytics platforms. This person will also help develop documentation and clear workflows that improve consistency, efficiency, and long-term team scalability.
The position partners closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies across marketing, product, analytics, legal, privacy, and information security. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, capable of managing large-scale initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve tracking, attribution, measurement, and campaign delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Traffic and manage campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Google Campaign Manager 360, Google Search Ads 360, Facebook Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Console, and similar tools.
• Implement and validate pixels, conversion tracking, and event tagging using tag management systems such as Adobe Launch or similar platforms.
• Create and manage trackers, postbacks, and smartlinks in mobile measurement platforms such as Kochava or related tools.
• Support audience creation, sharing, and activation using platforms such as LiveRamp and Adobe Audience Manager.
• Review media plans and support campaign launch readiness across both awareness and performance channels.
• Conduct end-to-end QA testing for campaign workflows across web and app environments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot payloads, tags, network requests, and campaign delivery issues using tools such as Charles Proxy, Postman, and browser-based debugging methods.
• Analyze discrepancies related to ad serving, placement, tracking, creative, audience sharing, and third-party reporting.
• Support consent and governance implementation using platforms such as TrustArc, OneTrust, Tag Inspector, Evidon, or similar technologies.
• Manage product feeds in partnership with technical teams and feed management solutions.
• Build dashboards and analyze performance data using tools such as Adobe Customer Journey Analytics, Kochava, and related reporting platforms.
• Read and write basic SQL queries and apply working knowledge of ETLs, data warehousing, and marketing data flows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve attribution, audience management, measurement design, and ad tech infrastructure.
• Document processes, workflows, and best practices to strengthen operational continuity and team efficiency.
Required Qualifications
• Experience in media operations, ad technology, marketing technology, or digital campaign QA.
• Strong hands-on experience with tag management and consent/privacy platforms such as TrustArc, OneTrust, Adobe Launch, or similar tools.
• Experience testing web and mobile applications, including network traffic analysis and event validation.
• Familiarity with mobile measurement platforms such as Kochava, AppsFlyer, or similar solutions.
• Understanding of SDK implementation, server-to-server tracking, and event measurement frameworks.
• Basic SQL knowledge and familiarity with ETL concepts and data warehousing.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across campaign delivery, attribution, and measurement.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in documentation and process creation.
• Experience collaborating effectively with agencies, marketers, and technical cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Background as a QA Analyst, Test Engineer, or similar testing-focused role within the ad tech or media space.
• Experience supporting subscription-based businesses or entertainment brands.
• Understanding of attribution models, incrementality testing, audience modeling, and A/B testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of brand safety tools and vendors such as IAS and DoubleVerify.
• Familiarity with cookieless solutions, including Conversion APIs, Customer Match, Offline Conversion Imports, and Enhanced Conversions.
• Exposure to privacy regulations and policies such as GDPR, CCPA, and U.S. state privacy laws.
• Experience with identity resolution, clean rooms, and evolving ad tech measurement solutions.
• Knowledge of MFA and SSO setup is a plus.
