Job title: Medicaid Business Analyst Location: Montgomery Alabama Type: Onsite – Contract Rate: $45/hour on W2 Position Description: We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team supporting the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels at bridging business needs with technical solutions in large-scale healthcare or government IT environments. As the Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, contract compliance, and system integrity across multiple contractors and stakeholders. The position supports ongoing operations while aligning with Alabama Medicaid’s modernization efforts to transition toward a modular, service-oriented architecture (SOA). Key Responsibilities: β€’ Business Analysis & Documentation β€’ Analyze and validate user documentation, change requests, design specifications, and test results. β€’ Approve project artifacts and ensure compliance with system and contractual requirements. β€’ Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready documentation and operational records. β€’ Operational Oversight & Performance Management β€’ Monitor contract deliverables, project milestones, and system changes to ensure alignment with agency objectives. β€’ Track key metrics, identify risks or defects, and recommend mitigation strategies. β€’ Maintain up-to-date lists of process owners and contractor personnel. β€’ Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication β€’ Serve as the liaison between business units, contractors, and technical teams. β€’ Facilitate meetings, document action items, and provide clear updates to leadership. β€’ Promote transparency and collaboration across technical and business stakeholders. β€’ Project Management & Continuous Improvement β€’ Support project management activities across multiple functional areas. β€’ Conduct business process analysis and identify opportunities for improvement. β€’ Ensure initiatives are completed on time and within defined standards. β€’ Testing & Quality Assurance β€’ Oversee testing and validation for system releases and enhancements. β€’ Manage Change System Requests (CSRs) and verify deliverable quality. β€’ Enforce adherence to SDLC methodologies and quality assurance standards. β€’ Compliance & Federal Reporting β€’ Support compliance with federal Medicaid and CMS reporting requirements. β€’ Monitor and manage Corrective Action Plans. β€’ Stay informed on federal standards such as MITA, CMS Seven Conditions and Standards, OBC, 21st Century Cures Act, and HITECH Act. Required Skills/Education: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field. β€’ 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Medicaid, healthcare, or government IT systems. β€’ Proven understanding of project management principles and SDLC frameworks. β€’ Experience with contract management, deliverable tracking, and change control processes. β€’ Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities. β€’ Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. β€’ Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong stakeholder management abilities.
