Job Title: Microsoft Fabric Solutions Architect Job Summary The Microsoft Fabric Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions using the Microsoft Fabric platform. This role leads the architecture of unified data ecosystems, enabling organizations to integrate, transform, and analyze data across cloud environments while ensuring scalability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data architecture, cloud platforms, and analytics, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust, future-ready technical solutions. Contract Details • Contract Length: 6–12 months (with potential for extension or conversion to full-time) • Reason for Contract: Support a large-scale enterprise data modernization initiative, including migration to Microsoft Fabric and implementation of a unified analytics platform • Hourly Pay Range: $75 – $110/hour (depending on experience, certifications, and project scope) Key Responsibilities • Design and implement end-to-end data architectures using Microsoft Fabric, including ingestion, storage, transformation, and visualization layers • Define and guide the use of Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Real-Time Analytics patterns based on business requirements • Architect scalable solutions leveraging OneLake, Data Factory, Spark, and Power BI • Establish data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including role-based access, data classification, and auditing • Lead enterprise data platform migrations from legacy systems (e.g., on-prem, Azure Synapse, or other cloud platforms) to Microsoft Fabric • Collaborate with business stakeholders and executives to translate strategic objectives into technical roadmaps • Optimize performance, cost, and scalability of data workloads across the platform • Define and enforce best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines • Support and mentor engineering teams in implementation, ensuring alignment with architectural vision • Drive adoption of automation, AI-assisted analytics, and modern data engineering practices Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud-based analytics solutions • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure data services or Microsoft Fabric • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms Technical Skills • Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric components (OneLake, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Power BI) • Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling) • Experience with Spark, Python, or PySpark for large-scale data processing • Deep understanding of data architecture patterns (e.g., medallion architecture, ETL/ELT design) • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Data Lake Storage • Knowledge of real-time data processing and streaming architectures • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Fabric Analytics Engineer) • Experience with data governance tools, security frameworks, and regulatory compliance • Background in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures • Experience integrating AI/ML workflows into analytics platforms Soft Skills • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities • Excellent communication skills, including executive-level presentations • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value • Strategic thinking with a focus on scalability and long-term architecture Nice to Have • Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, etc.) • Exposure to data mesh or data fabric architectures • Experience with enterprise BI strategy and self-service analytics enablement
