POSITION: Mid-Level Cloud Engineer (Datadog & AWS EKS)
LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ 85054 (Hybrid 3 times per week)
PAY RANGE: $63.33 per hour W2 (~$132k/year)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• 3+ years' experience configuring and administering EKS clusters in AWS.
• In depth experience in configuring Datadog in AWS environments, especially in EKS.
• Advanced knowledge of observability concepts and strong Datadog experience.
• Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry and configuration of OpenTelemetry Collectors.
• Experience in implementing comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions in AWS using CloudWatch.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm and IaC.
• Strong scripting skills in Shell and/or Python.
• Experience in collaborating with several cross functional teams to architect observability pipelines for various AWS services like EKS, SQS, etc.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Experience with developing and maintaining technical documentation, ADRs, and runbooks.

In this role, you will take ownership of all technical aspects of software development for your assigned applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and efficient. You will be an integral part of the design and development process, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge systems and application programs. As a senior member of our agile team, you will champion consistent development practices, including the use of advanced tools, common components, and thorough documentation. Your ability to identify and adopt innovative technologies will be crucial in keeping our solutions at the forefront of the industry. You will work closely with product owners to prioritize features for ongoing sprints, managing a list of technical requirements that reflect industry trends, emerging technologies, and known issues.
Responsibilities Include:
• Participate in the design and development of enterprise platforms and applications, leveraging technologies such as AWS EKS (Kubernetes), Datadog, Terraform, Helm and OpenTelemetry.
• Identify opportunities to integrate cutting-edge technologies into our solutions, such as OpenTelemetry Collectors and IaC practices with Terraform.
• Work with various cross-functional teams to architect observability pipelines for AWS services like EKS, SQS and more.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions in AWS using CloudWatch and Datadog, enhancing the observability and reliability of our systems.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, ADRs, and runbooks, ensuring clarity and consistency in our development processes.
Compensation:
$63.33 per hour
