Migration Engineer

We are searching for a Data Migration Specialist who will play a vital role in delivering successful database migrations to onboard new clients in the UK Social Care sector. This role is focused on moving customers from an existing legacy SQL environment into our client’s modern, in-house hosted SQL platform as part of a wider migration programme. Responsibilities • Work directly with assigned customers to plan and execute the migration of their data from legacy SQL solutions into the new hosted SQL platform. • Follow the agreed migration playbook, processes and technical steps to ensure migrations are carried out accurately, consistently and securely. • Perform data extraction, transformation and loading activities in line with programme standards. • Validate data integrity before and after migration, resolving any issues or discrepancies. • Collaborate with internal teams, including the Project Manager, Project Coordinator and technical specialists, to schedule and deliver migrations to agreed timelines. • Communicate clearly with customers throughout the process, setting expectations, providing updates, and ensuring they are prepared for cutover. • Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues where required to ensure minimal disruption to the customer. • Capture and document outcomes of each migration, including any deviations from the standard process. • Contribute feedback and suggestions to continuously improve the migration playbook and approach. • Act as an ambassador for the client’s hosted SQL solution, helping customers understand the benefits of the new platform.
