Role description
Job Title: Mirth Connect Developer Location: Pennsylvania,19073 (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite per week) Remote Option: Open to remote candidates, but local/onsite applicants will receive first preference. Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect) Developer to design, build, and maintain healthcare integration solutions that connect internal systems, providers, and payers. This role focuses on HL7, X12, and FHIR data exchange, message transformation, and support for healthcare workflows and claims-related transactions. The ideal candidate will ensure secure, standards-based interoperability while adhering to applicable privacy and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain healthcare integration interfaces using Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect). • Build and optimize message mappings and transformations for HL7 v2, X12, and FHIR exchanges. • Implement secure data handling practices to meet privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA where applicable). • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL logic required for integrations. • Write and maintain scripts (JavaScript, Java, or other scripting languages) for message routing, transformation, and validation. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective fixes. • Collaborate with clinical, engineering, and product teams to understand requirements and ensure integrations meet functional and performance needs. • Create and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, and test plans. • Support testing, validation, and deployment activities, including participation in integration and user acceptance testing. • Follow change control, release management, and incident management processes.
