MS Purview and Data Lead

We are looking for a Data Governance & Microsoft Purview Lead will support a large-scale cloud, data, and security transformation programme within a regulated financial services environment. The role holder will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise data governance capabilities using Microsoft Purview, ensuring data assets are discoverable, governed, protected, and compliant with regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include: • Leading the implementation and adoption of Microsoft Purview Data Catalog, including asset registration, automated scanning, metadata management, and data classification. • Establishing end-to-end data lineage capabilities across Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, SQL platforms, and wider data ecosystems. • Designing and implementing sensitivity label taxonomies, auto-labelling capabilities, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to protect sensitive and regulated data. • Defining and embedding a data governance operating model, including data ownership, stewardship frameworks, access management processes, and governance controls. • Partnering with Data, Security, Risk, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders to drive governance standards and regulatory compliance. • Supporting the organisation's broader cloud, data, and cyber security transformation objectives through the delivery of scalable governance capabilities. The successful candidate will bring strong experience of Microsoft Purview, enterprise data governance, data protection, metadata management, and lineage within a complex, regulated environment, ideally within financial services. This is an Inside IR35 Contract role working via Umbrella Company so please only apply for this role if you can work on that basis and are resident in the UK.
