Job Title: Neo4j Developer / Data Engineer
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid β 3 days onsite per week)

Experience Level: Senior (8+ years total, 5+ years in Neo4j)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Neo4j Developer with strong expertise in graph database technologies and data analytics to join our dynamic team in New York. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience designing, optimizing, and deploying Neo4j-based solutions, with a focus on performance tuning, Cypher query optimization, and leveraging Neo4jβs built-in algorithms.
This hybrid role requires collaboration with both technical and business teams, particularly in the Fraud and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) domains, to build scalable, data-driven solutions that uncover patterns and insights from complex data relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, develop, and maintain Neo4j graph database models and structures.
β’ Write and optimize Cypher queries and apply out-of-the-box Neo4j algorithms to solve complex business problems.
β’ Perform query performance tuning and implement optimization strategies (e.g., indexing, data modeling improvements).
β’ Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)βfrom business requirements and data analysis to architecture, development, testing, and deployment.
β’ Collaborate closely with Fraud, AML, and compliance teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
β’ Conduct data analysis and build data-driven insights to support business decisions.
β’ Provide documentation, best practices, and recommendations for ongoing graph data management and governance.
β’ Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 8+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in Neo4j Graph Database.
β’ Deep expertise in Cypher query language and Neo4jβs native algorithms.
β’ Proven experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
β’ Strong background in data architecture, data modeling, and analytics.
β’ Hands-on experience working with Fraud Detection, AML, or similar analytical business domains.
β’ Strong understanding of SDLC processes and agile methodologies.
β’ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Experience integrating Neo4j with other data platforms or visualization tools.
β’ Familiarity with Python, Spark, or other data processing frameworks.
β’ Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for Neo4j deployments.
