Role description
Job Summary Our prominent client in the Washington, D.C. area is seeking an OCM & Supplier Management Lead to drive the modernization and digitalization of our vendor ecosystem. Operating at the crucial intersection of process improvement, digital transformation, and organizational change management (OCM), you will act as the primary liaison between Supplier Management and the Change Management team. In this highly collaborative role, you will analyze legacy, manual supplier workflows, design future-state digital processes, and champion the people-side of change to ensure high adoption of new tools, dashboards, and standardized templates across procurement, finance, and various business stakeholders. location: Washington, Washington, D.C. job type: Contract salary: $70 - 80 per hour work hours: 9am to 5pm education: Bachelors Responsibilities Process Assessment & Optimization: Analyze current-state supplier management processes, manual workflows, trackers, and templates to identify operational gaps, risks, duplication, and improvement opportunities. Digitalization & Future-State Design: Map out, streamline, and digitize manual vendor activities; document future-state workflows and align them with centralized digital solutions and new portfolio standards. Stakeholder Facilitation & Alignment: Partner with Procurement, Finance, and key business business units to strengthen supplier selection oversight, including standardizing evaluation criteria and scoring documentation. Reporting & Dashboard Development: Design and deploy dashboards and reporting models (utilizing tools like Power BI or Tableau) to provide clear visibility into compliance, contract status, and supplier performance trends. Deliverables & Standardization: Create and standardize playbooks, SOW templates, RFIs, RFPs, supplier intake/onboarding workflows, and offboarding checklists. Performance & Risk Governance: Support the development of a supplier performance framework, including key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, escalation pathways, and risk remediation plans. Change Management & Enablement: Develop and execute OCM strategies, draft stakeholder communications, and build trusted relationships across the organization to drive enthusiastic adoption of new processes. Training & Documentation: Author and deliver comprehensive training materials, user guides, and job aids to enable consistent, compliant execution of supplier management practices. Qualifications Experience: Robust background supporting supplier/vendor management, procurement operations, process improvement, or digital transformation initiatives. Supplier Lifecycle Expertise: Strong, end-to-end understanding of the contract lifecycle, including intake, sourcing, onboarding, risk/compliance management, performance tracking, and offboarding. Workflow Modernization: Proven track record of converting manual, fragmented spreadsheets into structured, repeatable, and automated digital workflows with strong governance controls. Technical Savvy: Experience developing dashboards, metrics, and scorecards using platforms such as Tableau, Jira, Confluence, Figma, SharePoint, Excel, or Power BI. Communications & Trust-Building: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to translate technical process changes into user-friendly narratives. Professional Frameworks: Familiarity with continuous improvement, Agile delivery, and structured change methodologies. Preferred Credentials: Active certifications in Prosci, SAFe, Kotter, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or CIPS/MCIPS are highly preferred.
