Role description
Title: OFS Architect (AEPJP00010982) Company: AEP Location: Gahanna, Ohio The Architect will identify, clarify, resolve, and initiate solutions to complex problems that may be unique to the project, process, or organizational unit and require extensive specialized knowledge. These projects will typically be of high risk, potentially in multiple technology areas. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements for business process and technology strategy alignment. The IT Architect Lead is recognized as the technical and strategic planning domain expert and leads the creation of IT Architectural strategy, standards, and guidelines. This position requires expert communication, problem solving, and leadership skills. Also required is an excellent mixture of technical and business skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization OFS Architect designs, implements, and manages end to end solution for field operations, specializing in integrating Oracle Field Service Cloud (OFSC) with GIS, ERP and CRM systems. Provides technical leadership in configuring routing, capacity, and mobility while utilizing Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) to optimize workflows and mobile plugins. Essential Job Functions & Tasks: • Examine and evaluate current business processes and tasks and develop ideas for improvement. • Convert knowledge and ideas into better ways of doing business or into new or improved products and services. • Review, evaluate, and recommend new technologies. • Formulate actions and processes to support the defined short and long term goals and objectives of the business unit and organization. • Ensure alignment to AEP's supported technology stack with all provided solutions. • Review and approve technology artifacts planned to ensure that the product or services produced are according to specifications and that they are sufficiently sustainable. • Identify, control, and manage the impact of uncertain harmful technology events on the project and the project deliverables. • Use diagrams to help discover, communicate, and understand the problem being solved and develop the software solution. • Develop solution architecture documents, integration architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, data models, design custom plug-ins and reference architectures. • Architect for performance, scalability, security, high availability, disaster recovery and data privacy. • Promote continuous improvement within the project team. • Additional Requirements: • Define integration patterns with Work Management, Customer Information, and Asset Management systems • Design cloud architecture (OCI) and API management/gateway strategy Job Requirements: • Experience implementing OFS modules, 3-5 years as technical architect or leadership role • Deep knowledge of OFSC and related integrations • Expertise in REST/SOAP APIs, Oracle Integration Cloud and plug in development • Expertise in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) for data visualization and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) for scalable data modeling and performance tuning. • Strong understanding of field service operations such as scheduling, routing, dispatching and inventory management. • Establish CI/CD pipelines and observability/monitoring Additional Desired Experience: • Reviewing and translating Oracle release notes • Automated Deployment, Continuous Delivery • Good written and oral communication skills • Continuous improvement focus • Collaboration skill
