Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Progress OpenEdge Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications in a Windows client/server environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Progress 4GL/OpenEdge, a strong foundation in object-oriented design, and experience building scalable, integration-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise applications using Progress 4GL/OpenEdge.
• Build and support SOAP and RESTful web services for external and internal system integrations.
• Apply object-oriented OpenEdge programming, leveraging Classes and modern design practices.
• Perform performance tuning, optimization, and scalability improvements for existing applications.
• Work with XML and JSON data formats to support API and system integrations.
• Provide application support, troubleshoot production issues, and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate on web-based integrationsusing HTML, JavaScript, and related technologies.
• Design and implement application server architectures, including PASOE.
• Develop automation solutions, including UNIX shell scripts, to execute and manage OpenEdge programs.
• Partner closely with business users, IT teams, and Architects to meet technical and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation for new and existing systems.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge application development.
• Strong proficiency in Progress 4GL/OpenEdge 12.2 & 11.7 and PASOE.
• Strong proficiency in AppServer, GUI Programming
• Proven experience with object-oriented programming in OpenEdge.
• Demonstrated expertise in web services (SOAP/REST) and system integrations.
• Experience with performance tuning and application optimization.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web-based technologies.
• Experience in .NET OpenClient development
• Knowledge in Claims Domain
• Experience in API Programming
• Knowledge in SVN, SQL
