Role description
CSI Companies is seeking an experienced Oracle Developer with deep expertise in JDE World to support a large enterprise client operating JDE World v7.3 on AS/400. This role plays a critical part in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting legacy enterprise applications written in COBOL and RPG, ensuring system stability and ongoing business continuity. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on JDE World developer who is comfortable working in a legacy environment, understands enterprise systems, and can independently contribute to ongoing development and support initiatives in a fully remote setting. Hours: Full time – 40 hours/week Location: Fully Remote (U.S. Based) Pay: 55+/hr based on relevant experience and skills Position Type: Consultant – No C2C Work Authorization Visas are acceptable (any EAD). Candidates must be eligible to work on W2 and must not require sponsorship for at least 6–12 months. What you’ll do: β€’ Develop, maintain, and enhance applications within JDE World v7.3 running on AS/400. β€’ Write, modify, and support COBOL and RPG programs supporting critical enterprise business processes. β€’ Provide ongoing application support, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and break/fix development. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. β€’ Perform code analysis, debugging, and performance tuning within the JDE World environment. β€’ Support system integrations, data integrity, and operational reliability. β€’ Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of code changes. β€’ Document technical changes, procedures, and support activities. β€’ Ensure adherence to enterprise development standards and operational best practices. What we’re looking for: β€’ Proven hands-on experience as a JDE World developer in an enterprise environment. β€’ Strong expertise in COBOL (primary required skill). β€’ Experience developing and supporting RPG code on AS/400. β€’ Direct experience working with JDE World v7.3 (or comparable JDE World versions). β€’ Ability to analyze legacy code and support ongoing system operations. β€’ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. β€’ Ability to work independently in a fully remote consulting engagement. Nice to have: β€’ Experience supporting long-standing legacy or mainframe-adjacent systems. β€’ Exposure to modernization or migration initiatives involving JDE or Oracle platforms. β€’ Prior experience in large, complex enterprise environments. β€’ Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer skills.
