Oracle PL/SQL Developer | Location: Providence, RI | Contract
An immediate opportunity exists for an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join a dynamic team supporting data-driven initiatives within the healthcare and federal reporting domains. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining complex database solutions, with a focus on optimizing performance and ensuring data integrity in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Designs, implements, and optimizes Oracle database objects, including complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, and packages to support business reporting and data analysis needs.
β’ Analyzes large datasets to develop efficient SQL queries and troubleshoot performance issues.
β’ Collaborates with business resources and technical leads to deliver high-quality database solutions aligned with project requirements.
β’ Implements data validation, quality assurance, and referential integrity measures to ensure data accuracy.
β’ Utilizes version control tools such as Git to manage code repositories and supports continuous integration processes with tools like Jenkins.
β’ Applies knowledge of ETL practices to support data transformation and loading processes, leveraging tools such as Informatica or Pentaho (preferred).
β’ Documents system architecture and database design using UML and other modeling tools.
β’ Supports web development components involving XML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery, AngularJS, NodeJS, or React.
β’ Maintains awareness of database security practices, including role-based access controls.
β’ Contributes to troubleshooting and debugging complex logical and functional coding errors within large data environments.
β’ Supports reporting initiatives, including those submitted to federal agencies, utilizing data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI (preferred).
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, or Computer Science.
β’ 8-10 years of experience with Oracle databases, including writing complex SQL queries and developing PL/SQL objects.
β’ Strong experience with database and SQL performance tuning.
β’ Proficiency in data modeling and data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI preferred).
β’ Working knowledge of ETL practices and tools such as Informatica or Pentaho.
β’ Excellent understanding of database management systems, including relational database design, security, and query tools like SQL Developer, TOAD, or SQL Navigator.
β’ Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with large data sets.
β’ Experience with version control systems (Git) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins).
β’ Knowledge of UML for system documentation.
β’ 5+ years of experience in the healthcare or federal eligibility domain, including developing reports for agencies such as Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF.
β’ Ability to work on-site in Providence, RI.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Oracle certifications.
β’ Experience with XML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (JQuery, AngularJS, NodeJS, React).
β’ Familiarity with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum, XP, and Kanban.
β’ Experience with enterprise workflow management tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
β’ Knowledge of environmental regulatory processes.
