Machine Learning Engineer
We are building a talent engine that helps leading research labs and organizations advance artificial intelligence. This initiative focuses on benchmarking and improving model performance and training speed across real-world machine learning workloads. This role is suitable for early-career machine learning engineers or PhD candidates with a strong interest in innovation and measurable impact.
This is a remote, asynchronous, part-time role designed for individuals who value clear structure and outcome-driven work.
Schedule and commitment
• Remote and asynchronous, with flexible scheduling.
• Approximate commitment of 20 hours per week.
• Duration through December 22nd, with potential extension into 2026.
What you’ll do
• Draft detailed natural-language plans and code implementations for machine learning tasks.
• Translate novel machine learning problems into agent-executable tasks for reinforcement learning environments.
• Identify failure modes in LLM-generated trajectories and apply corrective patches for machine learning tasks.
What you’ll bring
• 0 to 2 years of experience as a machine learning engineer, or a PhD in computer science with machine learning coursework.
• Proficiency in Python and common machine learning libraries such as XGBoost, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
• Experience with data preparation and model training workflows.
• Bonus experience contributing to machine learning benchmarks.
• Must be based in the United States.
Compensation and terms
• Hourly rate between $80 and $120 USD, depending on region and experience.
• Weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
• Independent contractor engagement.
