Job Title: IAM Ping Engineer
Job Summary
The IAM Ping Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using the Ping Identity suite (PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDirectory, PingID). This role ensures secure authentication, authorization, and user lifecycle management across enterprise applications while supporting business requirements and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Implementation
• Design, configure, and implement IAM solutions using the Ping Identity platform.
• Develop and manage SSO integrations using SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and WS-Fed.
• Support API security initiatives by configuring OAuth/OIDC and token management.
• Implement MFA/2FA using PingID or other multi-factor solutions.
1. Administration & Maintenance
• Maintain, upgrade, and optimize PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDirectory, and PingID components.
• Monitor IAM system performance and troubleshoot issues across authentication and authorization flows.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of IAM services.
1. Security & Compliance
• Implement identity governance and access policies aligned with organizational security standards.
• Assess and mitigate security risks in IAM services.
• Support audits, compliance initiatives, and reporting requirements.
1. Integration & Development
• Build and maintain custom authentication adapters, integrations, and workflows.
• Collaborate with application teams to onboard new apps to SSO and MFA.
• Develop scripts and automation for IAM operations (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.).
1. Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with security, infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for IAM-related incidents and service requests.
• Document configurations, processes, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 3–8 years of hands-on experience in Identity & Access Management.
• Strong expertise with Ping Identity tools (PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDirectory, PingID).
• In-depth knowledge of identity protocols: SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, LDAP, SCIM.
• Experience integrating cloud and on-prem applications with SSO/MFA.
• Knowledge of API security and token-based authentication.
• Familiarity with directory services (AD, Azure AD, LDAP).
• Experience with scripting languages for automation (Python, PowerShell, Shell).
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Ping Identity certifications (PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDirectory, PingID).
• Experience in DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and modern identity frameworks.
• Experience with large enterprise IAM programs.
