Role description
Planview Platform Administrator / Technical Business Analyst About The Role We're looking for a Planview Platform Administrator with a strong engineering mindset to own, configure, and expand our Planview ecosystem. This is not a software development role — the ideal candidate comes from a systems administration, business systems analysis, or technical PPM administration background, and brings hands-on fluency with SQL and Power BI to support platform reporting and analytics. This person will play a central role in building out and maturing Planview capabilities across the organization, partnering closely with procurement, portfolio, and delivery teams to ensure the platform supports evolving business needs. What You'll Do • Own the day-to-day administration and configuration of the Planview platform, including workflows, fields, templates, user roles, and permissions • Partner with business stakeholders and procurement to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Planview configurations • Build and expand Planview capabilities — designing new configurations, workflows, and integrations rather than maintaining a static environment • Administer and support core Planview modules (see below), ensuring functional and technical alignment across teams • Manage and troubleshoot integrations via Planview Hub, ensuring reliable data flow between Planview and connected systems • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and shape data for reporting and platform troubleshooting • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to give leadership visibility into portfolio, project, and platform data • Perform quality assurance reviews of platform configurations and changes before deployment • Conduct post-implementation validation, identifying and resolving configuration or data issues • Support user testing, migration activities, and change management as Planview capabilities evolve • Troubleshoot issues within legacy and existing production configurations, performing root-cause analysis and resolution What You Won't Do • Software/application development or coding new programs • Building custom applications outside the Planview platform Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related), or equivalent practical experience • 8–10 years of relevant experience in platform administration, business systems analysis, or PPM tool administration • Deep, hands-on functional and administrative experience with Planview, including: • Project Portfolio Management (PPM / Portfolios) • AgilePlace • Planview Hub (integrations) • Roadmaps • [Internal tools/modules — confirm scope: ANVI, ICP, Automart] • Required: SQL — strong hands-on query writing, data extraction, and troubleshooting skills • Strong foundation in systems/data structures and logical problem-solving, applied to platform configuration and data — not application code • Demonstrated experience building out or scaling a PPM/enterprise platform's capabilities, not just operating an existing setup • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues within legacy production systems and configurations • Strong analytical skills — able to gather requirements, document specifications, and translate business needs into technical configuration Preferred Qualifications • Power BI experience strongly preferred — dashboard design, data modeling, DAX • Experience connecting Power BI to Planview data (via Hub, API, or exports) • Prior experience supporting a procurement or vendor-facing office • Experience with large-scale enterprise system administration beyond Planview Logistics • Fully remote, with flexibility on time zone — candidate must be comfortable working EST or CST hours #REMOTE
