Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Teamcenter Data Migration Engineer to join our PLM team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing data migration activities related to Siemens Teamcenter PLM systems. This role requires strong expertise in legacy data extraction, transformation, validation, and migration into Teamcenter environments while ensuring data integrity, quality, and compliance with business requirements.
The candidate should have hands-on experience with PLM data structures, Teamcenter schema, BOM migration, document migration, metadata mapping, and automation scripts/tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze existing legacy systems and understand data structures, relationships, and business rules.
• Design and execute end-to-end data migration strategies for Teamcenter implementations and upgrades.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and loading (ETL) activities.
• Migrate engineering data such as:
• Parts / Items
• BOMs (Bill of Materials)
• CAD files
• Documents
• Revisions / Versions
• Workflows
• Users / Roles / Groups
• Metadata / Attributes
• Develop mapping documents between source systems and Teamcenter data model.
• Create and maintain migration scripts, utilities, and automation tools.
• Work with business users, functional consultants, and technical teams to validate migration requirements.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness during migration cycles.
• Perform trial migrations, reconciliation, and production cutover support.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and resolve data inconsistencies.
• Support Teamcenter upgrades, system consolidations, and legacy data archival projects.
• Prepare technical documentation, migration reports, and validation logs.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams during deployment and go-live.
Required Technical Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM
• Experience in data migration / ETL processes
• Knowledge of Teamcenter Data Model
• Expertise in:
• Item & BOM structures
• Dataset migration
• Document management
• Workflow migration
• Hands-on with Teamcenter migration tools / utilities
• Experience with SQL / Oracle / SQL Server databases
• Scripting experience in one or more:
• Python
• Shell scripting
• Java
• Batch scripts
• Experience with XML, CSV, JSON, Excel-based data mapping
• Knowledge of Teamcenter ITK / SOA / BMIDE is highly preferred
• Understanding of CAD integrations such as:
• NX
• CATIA
