Role description
Required Skills & Qualifications: β€’ Expert-level proficiency with PostgreSQL internals: A minimum of years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, with a focus on deep internals rather than just daily administration. Experience with other platforms would be beneficial. β€’ Infrastructure and Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with managed PostgreSQL offerings like Amazon RDS/Aurora for PostgreSQL, Google Cloud SQL, and Azure β€’ Experience building tooling: Proven experience developing scripts, applications, or tools that interact with or manage PostgreSQL databases. β€’ Deep understanding of PostgreSQL's management interfaces: Extensive knowledge of system views, built-in functions, and the wire protocol. β€’ Customer-centric mindset: The ability to understand and empathize with the challenges faced by database administrators and developers. β€’ Experience with performance analysis: Proficiency in diagnosing database performance issues and an understanding of the metrics and methods used to monitor them. β€’ Programming/Scripting experience: Solid experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, Java) commonly used for building backend services and tools. Strong communication skills: The ability to explain complex PostgreSQL concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
