Your Role & Responsibilities
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable tasks
Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL database objects (functions, procedures, views)
Implement and maintain geospatial functionality using PostGIS
Manage database code using Git version control
Collaborate with front-end and API developers to ensure seamless integration
Work closely with QA, BAs, PMs, and other developers to resolve issues
Develop ETL processes for data migration and imports
Follow secure coding practices and test code prior to deployment
Document code, processes, and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
6+ years of experience in PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL and SQL development
Strong experience optimizing PostgreSQL queries and database performance
Hands-on experience with PostGIS for geospatial data handling
Proficiency in Git for version control
Experience working on large, structured project teams
Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira and Confluence
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience supporting mobile and web applications with synchronized schemas
Background in environmental data systems or scientific data workflows
Experience with secure coding practices in government or regulated environments
Education & Certifications You Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field
Certifications in PostgreSQL or database development are a plus
