Join us to challenge yourself and accomplish work that matters Job Title :PostgreSQL Database Engineer / DBA Job Location :Remote Work Duration :12 Months Rate- $50-55/hr on W2 and $60/hr on 1099 ( Sponsorship is not available) Role Overview We are looking Postgresql Database Admin or Engineer , we are not looking Data Engineer The PostgreSQL Database L3 Engg is responsible for upgrades managing maintaining and optimising PostgreSQL database environments in production and nonproduction systems This role acts as the secondlevel escalation point for incidents ensures database availability and supports performance tuning security and automation initiatives Key Responsibilities Database Administration • Install configure and upgrade PostgreSQL databases across environments • Manage database objects schemas tables indexes triggers and maintain database schema integrity • Perform performance tuning query optimisation and capacity planning Incident Problem Management • Act as L2 escalation for database related incidents and service requests • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to replication backup failures and performance bottlenecks Backup Recovery • Implement and monitor backup strategies using native tools pgdump pgbasebackup • Perform disaster recovery drills and ensure compliance with RPORTO objectives High Availability Replication • Configure and maintain HADR setups streaming replication logical replication • Monitor replication lag and ensure failover readiness Security Compliance • Manage user roles permissions and database security policies • Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards Automation Scripting • Develop automation scripts Shell / Python for routine DBA tasks • Implement proactive monitoring and ing for database health Collaboration • Work with developers DevOps and application teams on schema design migrations and CICD pipelines • Provide best practice guidance for database usage and performance Required Skills Experience Technical Expertise • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture configuration and internals • Handson experience with PostgreSQL upgrades patching and migrations from Oracle or other RDBMS • Familiarity with VACUUM ANALYZE AutoVacuum tuning and tablespace management Tools Technologies • Proficiency in pgAdmin psql and monitoring tools eg pgstatstatements Prometheus Grafana • Scripting skills in Shell Python for automation Soft Skills • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Ability to work in 24x7 rotational shifts and handle oncall support • Good communication and documentation skills Droisys is an equal opportunity employer.
