Role description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Developer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases for high-performance applications. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL expertise, experience with database performance tuning, and the ability to collaborate with backend development teams. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases. • Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. • Optimize database performance using indexing, partitioning, and query tuning. • Analyze execution plans using EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE. • Design database schemas and data models. • Implement backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions. • Perform database migrations and schema versioning. • Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance issues. • Collaborate with backend developers, DevOps, and QA teams. • Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance. Required Skills • Strong experience with PostgreSQL (12+ preferred). • Advanced SQL and PL/pgSQL. • Database design and normalization. • Query optimization and performance tuning. • Indexing (B-tree, GIN, GiST), partitioning, and execution plan analysis. • JSON/JSONB data types. • Stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. • Backup and recovery using pg_dump, pg_restore. • Replication (Streaming/Logical Replication). • Linux command line and shell scripting. • Git for version control
