Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer based in the Chicago area for a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in data visualization, data modeling, and business intelligence, with the ability to work closely with stakeholders to deliver meaningful insights.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business users
• Build and optimize data models using Power BI and DAX
• Work with multiple data sources including SQL Server, Excel, and cloud-based platforms
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable visual analytics
• Ensure data accuracy, performance, and usability of dashboards
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Support ongoing enhancements and performance tuning of existing reports
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in BI, reporting, or data analytics roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX and Power Query
• Solid experience with SQL and relational databases
• Strong understanding of data modeling and visualization best practices
• Experience working directly with business users and leadership teams
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Must be local to Chicago and open to a hybrid work model
Nice to Have
• Experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, or other cloud data platforms
• Prior experience in enterprise or regulated environments
• Power BI certifications
