Role description
OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Power BI Developer to join our data analytics team. In this role, you will harness the power of business intelligence tools to transform complex data sets into insightful, interactive dashboards and reports that drive strategic decision-making. Your expertise will enable stakeholders across the organization to visualize trends, analyze performance metrics, and uncover actionable insights. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of data visualization, big data integration, and cloud-based analytics platforms. Duties Design, develop, and maintain compelling Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data needs and translate them into effective visual solutions. Integrate data from diverse sources including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop, Azure Data Lake, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Optimize data models for performance and scalability using best practices in database design and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Develop automated data pipelines utilizing tools such as Informatica, Talend, Apache Hive, Spark, and Shell Scripting to ensure timely data updates. Implement advanced analytics techniques including model training and analysis skills to enhance reporting capabilities. Write complex SQL queries and scripts in Python or VBA for data extraction, transformation, and analysis tasks. Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver iterative improvements and ensure project milestones are met efficiently. Utilize RESTful APIs for seamless integration of external data sources and services into Power BI reports. Conduct analysis of large datasets involving Big Data technologies like Hadoop and Spark to identify key insights for business growth. Qualifications Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role with a strong portfolio of dashboards and reports. Proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle databases, and database design principles. Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or Talend; familiarity with Apache Hive, Spark, Hadoop is highly desirable. Strong programming skills in Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), or Shell Scripting for automation tasks. Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure Data Lake for scalable data storage solutions. Experience working with Big Data technologies like Hadoop and Spark for large-scale data processing. Familiarity with Looker or other BI tools is a plus; understanding of RESTful APIs for system integrations is essential. Ability to analyze complex datasets using analytics techniques; experience with model training is advantageous. Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail; strong problem-solving capabilities in database design and analysis contexts.
