Senior BI Developer – Insurance | £650–£700/day
📍 London | 💼 Hybrid | 🕒 Full-time | 📅 6-Month Contract
We're looking for a Senior BI Developer to join a leading insurance firm on a high-impact data project. You’ll build scalable Power BI solutions, enable actionable insights, and ensure customers can pursue their financial goals through clean, intelligent reporting.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver robust BI solutions using Power BI, including semantic modelling and DAX
• Analyse, transform, and visualise complex data sets using SQL and/or Python
• Produce and maintain governance documentation (data lineage, dictionaries, architecture mapping)
• Collaborate within agile teams to support delivery of key business outcomes
• Manage competing priorities and communicate risks or delays clearly
• Engage stakeholders to define data requirements and present insights
✅ Essential Skills:
• Strong Power BI expertise with semantic modelling and DAX
• Proven experience with SQL and/or Python
• Solid understanding of relational databases and data governance
• Clear written, visual, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure with senior stakeholders
• Comfortable in agile, fast-paced delivery environments
⭐ Desirable:
• Insurance sector experience
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with DataLake/ETL tools (e.g. Databricks, Synapse, Dataiku)
• Documenting technical data requirements and designing data tests
🎓 Qualifications:
• BSc or higher in Computer Science, Maths, Economics, or related field
• CII qualification (preferred or working towards)
