Role description
Job Title: Data Analytics Specialist (Power BI)
Location: Charlotte, NC (onsite 2x per week)
Duration: 18 month contract
Overview:
We are seeking a Data Analytics Specialist with strong Power BI expertise and the ability to think critically about data. This person will partner closely with business units to understand their metrics, translate needs into meaningful insights, and build dashboards that not only meet current requirements but also push toward future vision.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand metrics, pain points, and reporting needs.
β’ Analyze prepared datasets and identify opportunities to improve visibility, accuracy, and decision-making.
β’ Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly communicate insights.
β’ Connect to various data sources and demonstrate strong data modeling skills within Power BI.
β’ Own the analytics pipeline end-to-end with minimal hand-holding.
β’ Think beyond the immediate askβprovide recommendations and help shape the direction of future analytics solutions.
β’ Present findings and explain dashboards in an accessible, business-friendly manner.
Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of experience in data analytics, BI development, or a related field.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report building).
β’ Ability to independently own problems and drive solutions.
β’ Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and simplify complex data.
β’ Excellent communication and soft skills; comfortable working directly with business users.
β’ A portfolio of past Power BI dashboards or public gallery examples is strongly preferred.
β’ Ability to connect to a data source and build a dashboard during the interview process.
