Position: Power BI Developer / Data Visualization Analyst -- W2 Only
Location: Columbia, SC 29201 (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months contract with possible extension
Senior Power BI Developer / Data Visualization Analyst (Public Health Systems) - 9345
Interview Process: 1 round, Virtual/Online
Duration of the Contract: 12 months
Possibility for Extension: Yes
Work Location: Role is hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Candidate location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense.
DAILY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of the agencyβs data visualization systems team, contractor will perform analysis, design, code, testing, documentation, implementation, modification, and upgrade of agency computer systems supporting health services. to include integration and monitoring of supporting backend system processes and solutions, documentation, and remediating and solving customer issues. focus on supporting the public health infrastructure initiatives.
This position will support agency-wide PowerBI initiatives by mentoring junior developers and developing advanced data visualization products. For example, the advanced programmer will begin working immediately to develop an intangible asset tracking dashboard for a group of program area directors. Developer should be prepared to create a data model for this project and to develop a collection of KPIs and charts that will allow for more accurate fiscal-year calculations and expenditure rollups, ensuring better-informed executive decisions, more accurate reporting, and greater capacity for consistent and regular auditing capacity. The contractor will create a monthly snapshot of the architecture with workflow diagrams, backend schemas, and any other operational dashboard enhancements as requested by agency leadership including but not limited to technical documentation, definitions, and data dictionary updates.
CRITICAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Work in a team environment to implement, maintain and provide technical support for specific applications as assigned, including but not limited to tableau and power bi. Provide technical back-up for other applications as assigned. Ensure systems integrate seamlessly with agency electronic document management system (edm) and geographic information systems (gis). Adheres to information technology application development standards.
1. Communicate and collaborate with other data analysts, systems integrations staff and program areas to ensure appropriate visualization of data.
1. Develop and oversee dynamic dashboard reporting and underlying data connections for select health information systems and programs.
1. Prepare and maintain system documentation for applications supported. Provide appropriate administrative documentation/project communication.
1. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
1. 3+ years of experience with Power BI
1. 3+ years of experience with technical documentation
1. 1+ year of experience with Project Management

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or equivalent work experience.
