Power BI Developer (Only Independent Contractors)

Position: Power BI Developer Only Independent contractors Location: Atlanta, GA (onsite) Local preferred Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and publish interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using DAX, Power Query (M), and advanced visualization techniques. • Collaborate with data engineering teams to model data for analytics (Star/Snowflake schema, fact and dimension design). • Build and optimize datasets in Power BI Service and ensure efficient refresh scheduling, gateway configurations, and workspace management. • Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable visual insights. • Implement row-level security (RLS), role-based access, and report governance standards. • Integrate Power BI with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and SQL-based data sources. • Conduct performance tuning, data validation, and usability testing for dashboards. • Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and report templates. • Automate recurring reporting processes and maintain documentation for published reports and datasets. Required Skills • Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query. • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and transformation (SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar). • Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data validation. • Understanding of data warehouse concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Fact/Dimension tables). • Experience in connecting Power BI to multiple data sources (Azure, Databricks, Excel, APIs, etc.). • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
