ADO integration with Power BI 1. business acumen / requirements translation skills 1. strong communication (clear and concise) Job Summary – Power BI Consultant The Power BI Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high‑quality analytics and visualization solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role partners with business and technical stakeholders to transform raw data into meaningful insights, enabling data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. The consultant brings strong expertise in data modeling, DAX, visualization best practices, and dashboard development, while ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned to business needs. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Modeling - Gather and analyze business requirements to design effective analytic solutions. - Develop and maintain efficient data models optimized for Power BI performance and usability. - Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability. - Apply data transformation and cleansing logic using Power Query. Power BI Report & Dashboard Development - Design and build interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that clearly communicate insights. - Implement best practices for visualization, usability, and accessibility. - Create reusable report components and standardized templates where applicable. - Optimize reports for performance, scalability, and end‑user consumption. DAX & Advanced Analytics - Develop and maintain DAX measures and calculations to support complex analytical requirements. - Implement time‑intelligence, aggregations, and advanced calculations as needed. - Troubleshoot and resolve performance or calculation issues related to DAX and data models. KPI, Metrics & Insights - Partner with stakeholders to define and refine KPIs and business metrics. - Translate business questions into meaningful visual and analytical representations. - Provide insights and recommendations that help drive operational and strategic decisions. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - Engage with business users, leadership, and technical teams to understand reporting needs. - Present dashboards and analytical findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. - Iterate on solutions based on feedback to ensure alignment with business objectives. Governance, Security & Best Practices - Implement Power BI governance standards, including workspace organization and dataset reuse. - Configure security using Row‑Level Security (RLS) and access controls as required. - Ensure solutions align with enterprise data, security, and compliance guidelines. Documentation & Enablement - Document data models, reports, calculations, and assumptions. - Provide guidance or light training to users on how to consume dashboards and interpret insights. - Support knowledge transfer and long‑term sustainability of reporting solutions. Tools & Technologies - Power BI (Desktop & Service) - DAX, Power Query (M) - Excel - Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools for backlog and delivery tracking Data sources such as SQL databases, APIs, and cloud data platforms (as applicable)
