Role description
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a PowerClerk Technical Analyst with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension and is remote.
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Description:
The Senior Technical Analyst is a hands-on technical lead supporting the implementation, migration, configuration, and long-term support of the Interconnection Management System (IMS) within the Renewables Integration organization. This role is focused on deep system expertise, data migration execution, PowerClerk configuration, reporting, and production issue resolution in a regulated utility environment.
The IMS is the enterprise platform used to manage interconnection requests for both utility-scale and distributed generation across multiple regulated jurisdictions. The organization is in the process of replacing a legacy Salesforce-based IMS with PowerClerk®, a configuration-over-code platform. The Senior Technical Analyst plays a key role in ensuring system integrity during migration and serves as a long-term technical owner as the platform transitions to steady-state support and future client-led enhancements.
This position is execution-oriented and will eventually operate with minimal oversight. The Senior Technical Analyst is expected to independently analyze complex technical problems, define solutions, and implement system and data changes while balancing regulatory requirements, operational risk, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute complex data migration activities, including:
• Defining and validating data mappings
• Performing import verification and reconciliation
• Identifying systemic data quality issues and defining cleanup strategies
• Perform advanced data analysis, validation, and testing to ensure system stability across migrations, releases, and production support.
• Configure and maintain IMS workflows, business rules, and logic within PowerClerk.
• Serve as a technical authority for defect analysis and enhancement requests, recommending and implementing configuration, data, or reporting solutions.
• Own investigation and resolution of high-impact production issues, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Build, enhance, and maintain operational and regulatory reports; guide reporting design based on business and compliance needs.
• Lead technical testing efforts, including defining test scenarios, validating results, and supporting UAT readiness.
• Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system configurations, data mappings, and support procedures.
• Participate as a senior technical contributor in Agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior analysts as needed.
• Support knowledge transfer through technical documentation and job aids related to system usage and data handling.
Required Experience & Technical Skills:
• 7-9+ years of experience in a technical analyst, systems analyst, or data-focused role.
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise systems with complex workflows, integrations, and reporting.
• Strong hands-on experience with the full data migration lifecycle (mapping, validation, reconciliation).
• Advanced experience with configuration-driven or low-code platforms; PowerClerk experience strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of interconnection processes (e.g., net metering, cluster studies) and their technical implications.
• Experience operating in regulated utility or compliance-driven environments.
• Ability to independently make technical decisions that balance system integrity, delivery timelines, and operational risk.
Additional Qualifications:
• Strong technical documentation skills with the ability to clearly capture system behavior and configuration decisions.
• Ability to work directly with IT, vendors, and business users to resolve complex technical issues.
• Comfortable prioritizing technical work based on production impact and system risk rather than facilitation or consensus-building.
