PowerServer Engineer

Location: London Hybrid 60% office 40% remote Duration: 30/11/2026 Rate - £257 MUST BE PAYE THROUGH UMBRELLA Role Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced PowerServer Engineer to support audit, investigation, and strategic planning activities related to our existing PowerBuilder/PowerServer applications. The ideal candidate will assess current systems, identify gaps, and provide actionable recommendations for optimization, modernization, or migration. Key Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive audit and assessment of existing PowerServer/PowerBuilder applications • Conduct root cause analysis and investigations for performance, stability, and scalability issues • Analyze application architecture, deployment setup, and integration workflows • Identify technical risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities • Prepare detailed assessment reports, findings, and recommendations • Collaborate with stakeholders to define modernization or migration strategy • Create roadmaps and implementation plans for future upgrades or enhancements • Provide guidance on best practices, security, and performance optimization • Support decision-making through technical insights and feasibility analysis • Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong experience with PowerBuilder and PowerServer • Proven experience in application auditing, system analysis, or consulting roles • Solid understanding of client-server and web-based architectures • Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting • Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) • Ability to analyze legacy systems and recommend modernization approaches • Strong documentation and reporting skills • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Preferred Skills • Experience with application migration (on-prem to cloud or web) • Familiarity with Appeon PowerServer • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) • Knowledge of security and compliance standards • Prior consulting or advisory experience • Deliverables Expected • System audit report • Risk and gap analysis • Recommendations for improvement/modernization • Strategic roadmap and execution plan If you receive suspicious outreach claiming to be from us, please contact us via the ManpowerGroup website.
