Overview:
The Pricing and Contracts Business Analyst is a highly analytical role within the Pricing Team. This crucial role is responsible for monitoring market cost data, developing and implementing profitable pricing strategies, and ensuring data accuracy and execution of established customer agreements.
The ideal candidate will leverage strong analytical skills, market knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration to monitor the cost landscape and optimize pricing for maximum profitability and competitiveness.
Responsibilities:
β’ Cost and Market Analysis: Aggregate and analyze product cost data from external market sources and internal procurement information, and anticipate future cost trends in collaboration with the Merchandising team.
β’ Pricing Strategy & Execution: Apply comprehensive cost and market intelligence to accurately price long-term customer accounts in collaboration with Account Management teams, ensuring all pricing commitments are executed precisely.
β’ Data Integrity & Troubleshooting: Manage pricing data uploads and maintenance across all relevant systems to ensure customer prices are accurate. Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve pricing execution issues quickly to guarantee data integrity and correct billing.
β’ Profitability Analysis: Analyze the impact of pricing changes on sales, revenue, and profit margins, adjusting strategies as needed to meet business goals.
β’ Modeling & Forecasting: Model pricing scenarios for new or renewal of major customer accounts, providing insight into costs, target prices, profitability, and market competitiveness.
β’ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Sales, Merchandising, and Finance teams on strategic pricing initiatives and large customer account management.
β’ Customer Agreement Management: Manage customer account alignment processes and assist the sales team in price negotiations and maintaining long-term agreements.
β’ Compliance: Ensure all pricing policies and execution comply with relevant regulations and internal company standards.
Required Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
β’ 3+ years of experience in pricing analysis, financial analysis, or a similar data-intensive role, preferably within a related industry.
Technical Skills
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including experience with large-scale data uploads and validation, macros) and proven experience with data analysis/Business Intelligence (BI) tools, particularly Power BI.
β’ Proficiency with Excel Macros for automation, and experience with other data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau).
Core Competencies and Strategic Attributes
β’ Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with proven proficiency in statistical analysis and financial modeling.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to present complex data and actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
β’ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments, influence decision-making, and think strategically to anticipate market changes and recommend innovative pricing solutions.
β’ A Masterβs degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Pricing Professional - CPP) is a significant additional strength.
