Role description
About Us:
R Systems is a global digital product engineering and technology services provider founded in 1993, specializing in AI, analytics, cloud-native capabilities, and software engineering. Now part of the Blackstone Group, they serve Fortune 1000 companies and tech firms, focusing on accelerating digital transformation.
We are looking for a rare "T-shaped" data professional who combines elite business communication with hands-on technical execution. You aren't just a builder; you are a problem-solver who can navigate corporate bureaucracy and sub-optimal tech stacks to deliver executive-ready solutions. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery from interpreting ambiguous executive requests to automating the final data pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Executive Presence: Being an exceptionally good communicator with best-in-class in active listening and consistently presenting well in front of executives. Ideal for a candidate who considers this their differentiator in an otherwise technical sphere.
β’ Executive-Level Delivery: You will be fulfilling critical requests for senior leadership. You must be able to "put on an executive hat" anticipating the "so what?" behind the data and delivering polished, high-impact results that require zero cleanup. Being an exceptionally good listener and following through on requirements will both be critical to success.
β’ Serving as Team Lead/Mentor: Serve as a technical and professional coach for junior staff, upleveling their output and accountability. Also envision and delivery upon solutions that empower the entire team (not just yourself) such as new tools the team could/should be using, new approaches to standard deliverables, etc.
β’ Comfortable with Structured Rapid Delivery: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of structured analytics projects with urgency (often 48β72 hour windows).
β’ Intelligent Automation: Build your own workflows using LLMs, Python to ensure work is scalable, reusable, and faster than manual processes. Experience using orchestrators and schedulers is a strong plus.
β’ Strategic Problem Solving: Find creative "workarounds" for technical hurdles, permission blocks, and shifting political priorities without losing momentum.
β’
β’ Required Qualifications
β’ The "Accountability" Bar: You have a history of setting your own milestones, meeting/exceeding deadlines, and taking 100% ownership of your code and results.
β’ Technical Proficiency:
β’ Data: Fluent in SQL and Python (Mid-level proficiency required; higher a plus).
β’ AI/LLM: Practical experience with LLMs and prompt engineering; able to articulate the risks, limitations as well as build creative solutions outside the traditional scope/limitations of the technology
β’ Business Acumen: High-polish presentation skills; ability to remain composed and confident in front of executives.
β’ Experience with Sales, Retention, and/or Call Center teams: Subject-matter expertise and capacity to βsee through the eyesβ of agents and leaders in those sorts of organizations, anticipate their needs, understand their pain points, etc.
β’ Resilience: High tolerance for rapid pivoting and "red tape." You view sub-optimal tech stacks as a puzzle, not a barrier.
β’
β’ Bonus Points
β’ Automation: Proven experience using orchestrators to automate repetitive tasks and data flows.
β’ Visual Storytelling: A background in graphic design or a knack for building beautiful, intuitive decks and dashboards.
β’ Data Architecture: Foundational knowledge of data engineering principles.
