GIS & Website Developer (Contract, Remote) Start Date: January 6, 2025End Client: State of Mississippi – Office of Mississippi Physician Workforce (OMPW)Job Type: Full-Time Contract (12 Months)Location: Remote (U.S.-based candidates only)Pay Rate: $50–$60/hrInterview Mode: Webcam or In-Person About the Role We are seeking an experienced GIS & Website Developer to support statewide health workforce initiatives under Mississippi Code § 41-123-1 (2023). This role involves developing web-based GIS tools and visualizations that address physician shortages and improve healthcare access across Mississippi. Key Responsibilities Design interactive GIS maps to visualize physician workforce shortages and underserved regions. Develop and maintain a mobile-responsive, accessible website tailored to OMPW's mission. Create dynamic dashboards and data visualization tools using ArcGIS Enterprise and modern JavaScript frameworks. Implement custom reporting tools by region, specialty, and indicators. Lead the migration of existing websites and GIS applications to new hosting environments. Upgrade existing Mapper applications using ESRI JavaScript SDK and Calcite Design System (or similar). Convert and manage licensure and workforce datasets, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Coordinate with agency staff to align project outcomes with legislative goals. Support data infrastructure modernization, including use of data lakes, warehouses, and catalogs. Maintain documentation and adhere to project timelines and deliverables. Must-Have Skills (7+ Years Each) Advanced experience with ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise Proficiency in website development (frontend/backend) Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools Strong knowledge of Mississippi government operations and/or physician workforce planning Nice to Have Experience with public health or healthcare workforce analytics Familiarity with Calcite Design System and modern JavaScript frameworks Why Join Us?
