Primary Skills: Energy Risk Management (Expert), ION Endur (Advanced), Quantitative Analysis (Expert), Data Visualisation (Advanced), Financial Modeling (Advanced) Contract Type: W2 Duration: 6+ Months Location: Tualatin, OR - 97062 ( - Onsite) Pay Range: $75 - $80 per hour on W2 #LP Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Energy Risk Analyst to support Power Operations Risk Management in a rapidly evolving western energy market. This role focuses on quantitative risk analysis, production reporting, and model development to help leadership assess trading exposures, manage risk, and make data-driven decisions across power, gas, and renewable portfolios. Key Responsibilities: • Support Power Operations Risk Management through reporting, risk analysis, and model validation/enhancement • Run and maintain End-of-Day production reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness • Analyze trading risk limits, exposures, and portfolio performance • Develop and support quantitative models for structured energy products (PPAs, tolling, derivatives, etc.) • Apply and interpret risk metrics (VaR, MtM, GMaR) for decision-making • Troubleshoot reporting systems and recommend process improvements • Provide analytical insights to trading, portfolio, and finance teams • Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders, including senior leadership Must-Have Skills: • Strong experience in energy risk management (power/gas markets) • Hands-on experience with ION Endur (ETRM system) • Expertise in quantitative analysis, risk modeling, and financial concepts (VaR, MtM) • Advanced skills in Excel, VBA, Python, and data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) • Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate complex data into actionable insights Industry Experience: • 8+ years of experience in energy markets, risk analytics, or quantitative roles • Background in utilities, power trading, natural gas, or renewables (required) • Experience with production cost modeling, structured energy products, and trading environments preferred • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering ABOUT AKRAYA Akraya is an award-winning IT staffing firm consistently recognized for our commitment to excellence and a thriving work environment. Most recently, we were recognized Stevie Employer of the Year 2025, SIA Best Staffing Firm to work for 2025, Inc 5000 Best Workspaces in US (2025 & 2024) and Glassdoor's Best Places to Work (2023 & 2022)!
