Role description
Volt is immediately hiring for a Lead Data Engineering (Big data) in Atlanta, GA 30328. As a Lead Data Engineering (Big Data), you will: โ€ข Create best practices in cloud-based data analytics technologies to collect and analyze large amounts of manufacturing data to advance the state of the art in efficiency optimization and predictive analytics. โ€ข Architect and maintain transformation data pipelines to curate and report on large-scale, Enterprise-wide financial data supporting Business Analysts in analyzing and reporting to leadership. โ€ข Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to elicit and understand requirements โ€ข Lead the end-to-end delivery of data-driven solutions โ€ข Work with a team of business analysts and data engineers focused on delivering a wide array of big data solutions using cutting edge technologies in both oversight and as practitioner. โ€ข Guide the organization in efficient data and resource management best practices with cloud-based data platforms and service This is Full-Time, Contract Opportunity. The Ideal Candidate will have: โ€ข 8 - 10 years of strong Data Engineering experience โ€ข Practical Experience in the following areas: โ€ข Hands-on experience in Palantir Foundry to design and implement scalable data solutions. โ€ข Experience with Hadoop-based technologies including, but not limited to: Hive, PySpark, etc. โ€ข Experience in one of the following programming languages: Python/Java โ€ข Experience with ETL concepts and able to demonstrate working knowledge in one ETL technology. โ€ข Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services. โ€ข Experience with NoSQL (HBase, MongoDB, etc) and RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) data stores. โ€ข Strong data Engineering skills including full agile software development lifecycle including design, implementation, unit testing techniques and able to participate in peer review. โ€ข Familiarity with source control systems, specifically Git โ€ข Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities. โ€ข Strong Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
