Process Improvement Engineer 6-month contract Onsite 4x/week, Los Angeles Position Overview • Lead Role: This is a leadership position within the team. • Hands-On: Must be actively involved in the work, not just managing. • Coaching & Mentorship: Ability to coach and guide team members effectively. Key Responsibilities • Process Planning & Implementation: Responsible for developing and implementing processes. • Complex Change Management: Must have experience navigating complex directional changes. • Operational Improvement: Improve processes and operations, especially under failure conditions (e.g., systems crash scenarios). • Communication Leadership: Capable of driving creative and thoughtful conversations. Required Skills & Competencies • Clear & Concise Communication: Must articulate well, avoid rambling, and clearly explain how they've solved past problems. • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation ability is essential. • PowerBI Expertise: Proficiency in PowerBI dashboard development and operation. • Coaching Skills: Should effectively mentor and support team growth. • Problem Solving & Analysis: Must communicate the "how" behind their process solutions. Preferred Background • Technical Degree: Must hold a technical degree (e.g., Engineering). • Industry Experience: Preference for candidates from: • Industrial or Mechanical Engineering • Manufacturing sectors, especially: • Aerospace • Healthcare Description: The Senior Process Architect will be part Process and Performance team as they transform the organization - establishing "what good looks like", ensuring teams are focused on the highest priorities, and acting as the process competency center for an effective and efficient organization. They are responsible for understanding the process issues within the IT organization, designing and implementing high-impact solutions, and measuring results to drive continuous improvement. This role combines process and systems to deliver tools and efficiencies in an end to end process. Creative Problem Solving is a must with the ability to improve quality process problems to reduce errors, improve efficiency, and maximize resources. Excellent written and verbal communication, data analysis, and analytical problem-solving. • Lean/Six Sigma Certified • Experience with ITIL or Dev Ops • Knowledge or Certification with Capability Maturity Model (CMMI Responsibilities: • Identify strengths and areas for process improvement, establishing links between business strategies and improvement initiatives utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. • Recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies such as role alignment, process gaps and overlaps, and business capability maturity gaps. • Apply architectural principles, methods, and tools to business challenges. • Model business processes using a variety of tools and techniques. • Provide leadership and expertise throughout the design and improvement of processes. • Perform root cause analysis and provide recommendations for improvement. • Determine and lead the creation of process impact in large-scale transformations from Strategy Development to Implementation • Meet with business and technical leaders to identify and scope opportunities, outline potential value and ROI, and identify risks and constraints. • Interprets internal and external business issues and recommends best practices. • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. • Works independently with guidance in only most complex situations • Supports, trains, and mentors and serves as a "go-to" for the team. • Interprets business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, and services. • Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions. • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view. • Analyze data for trends and recommend possible improvements/solutions. • Capture the tactical and strategic business goals that provide traceability through the organization and map them to metrics that provide ongoing governance capability. • Evaluate existing processes using interviews, workshops, document analysis, surveys, Kaizen Events, user scenarios, process maps, task and workflow analysis. • Facilitate and lead tiger team meetings with 20+ individuals. • Enumerate, analyze, catalog, and suggest improvements to the strategic, core and support processes of the business. • Define the data elements shared between the various business units in the enterprise and the relationships between those data elements and processes, people, systems, and other process elements.
