Role description
Position: Product Analyst
Location: Remote - PST hours
Duration: 6 month contract + extensions
Pay:$35/hr.
Overview:
The ideal candidate possesses strong SQL and analytics expertise, experience supporting product teams, and a passion for transforming complex datasets into actionable business insights. This individual is comfortable navigating ambiguity, building scalable analytical models, and influencing product strategy through thoughtful analysis and compelling data storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to support strategic product initiatives through data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Develop and maintain key product metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to monitor product performance and user behavior.
• Build, test, document, and maintain production-grade analytical models using DBT and Git-based development workflows.
• Perform exploratory analysis, cohort analyses, segmentation studies, and experimentation analysis to identify growth opportunities and inform product decisions.
• Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments to measure feature effectiveness and quantify business impact.
• Translate ambiguous business and product questions into structured analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
• Work with large, complex datasets to uncover trends, measure outcomes, and evaluate platform performance.
• Create compelling visualizations and presentations that communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data quality, accessibility, and analytical infrastructure.
• Contribute to KPI development, metric standardization, and analytics best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Product Analytics, or a related field.
• Master's degree in a quantitative field preferred.
• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to work efficiently with large datasets and complex queries.
• Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Hands-on experience with DBT, including:
• Development of analytical data models
• Data testing and validation
• Documentation best practices
• Git-based version control workflows
• Experience applying analytical and statistical techniques, including:
• Descriptive analytics
• Cohort analysis
• Experimentation and A/B testing
• Performance measurement and trend analysis
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate and answer complex business questions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Growth mindset with a proactive, iterative approach to learning and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM), Authentication, Authorization, or Security-focused products.
• FinTech industry experience.
• Familiarity with product analytics methodologies and experimentation frameworks.
• Experience defining and operationalizing product KPIs and success metrics.
• Understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working within modern analytics ecosystems and cloud-based data platforms.
