Product Data Analyst (Contract)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Product Data Analyst to support a large-scale Product Information Management (PIM) initiative focused on improving the quality, accuracy, and completeness of product information across thousands of SKUs. This role will partner closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to research, validate, organize, and enrich technical product data that supports ecommerce, distributor websites, and other digital channels.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, researching technical information, identifying data gaps, and improving the quality of customer-facing product content.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, analyze, validate, and maintain product information across thousands of product records
• Populate and update product information within a Product Information Management (PIM) system
• Gather product specifications, attributes, descriptions, imagery, documentation, and technical details from multiple internal systems
• Identify missing or inconsistent product information and recommend improvements
• Create and refine concise product descriptions and customer-facing content using established naming conventions and product standards
• Collaborate with Product Managers and technical subject matter experts to validate product information
• Track project progress, document outstanding questions, and communicate status updates
• Document repeatable processes to improve future product data enrichment efforts
• Support ongoing data quality initiatives and product catalog improvements
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in product data management, master data, product information management, catalog management, data analysis, or a related field
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Experience researching and validating information across multiple systems and data sources
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working with large datasets
• Ability to identify inconsistencies, investigate missing information, and recommend solutions
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Product Information Management (PIM), ERP, PLM, CAD, or other enterprise systems
• Experience supporting ecommerce product catalogs or digital product content
• Industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technical product experience
• Technical writing or product content creation experience
• Experience using SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, or knowledge management tools
• Exposure to AI-powered productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot
