Job Description Job Title: Product Owner / Business Analyst – Pet Insurance (In-Rules Expertise Required) Location: Remote (Preferred candidates based in Chicago, IL for 3 days/week onsite) Employment Type: Contract (Long-Term) About the Role We are looking for a results-driven Product Owner with deep domain expertise in Pet Insurance and hands-on experience with business rules management systems (In-Rules). In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring the delivery of high-impact features that enhance customer experience and align with strategic goals. Key Responsibilities • Define & Execute Vision: Own the product roadmap and ensure alignment with business objectives. • Backlog Ownership: Manage and prioritize the product backlog in Azure DevOps, ensuring clarity and readiness for development sprints. • Requirements & Rules: Translate complex pet insurance workflows into detailed functional requirements and business rules using In-Rules. • Story Creation: Write clear, concise user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. • Agile Collaboration: Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between business units and development teams to ensure seamless communication and value delivery. Required Skills & Experience • Domain Expertise: Strong functional knowledge of Pet Insurance processes, including underwriting, claims, and policy administration. • Rules Management: Proven experience working with In-Rules or similar business rules engines (mandatory). • Agile Proficiency: Solid experience as a Product Owner or BA in an Agile environment. • Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for backlog management; familiarity with Jira or Confluence is a plus. • Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with API-driven products and system integrations. • Understanding of regulatory and compliance standards within the insurance industry.
