Role description
Title: BA/PO Location: Golden Valley, MN. Hybrid, 3 days onsite (Local MN candidates only!) Contract Duration: Till December 31, 2026 (could extend beyond) Pay Range: 50-58hr W2 Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the dual role of Product Owner and Business Analyst within our Data Governance team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between vision and execution in a large-scale data platform initiative. The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives through effective collaboration with business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that data governance and quality objectives are met. Key Responsibilities โ€ข Represent the Data Governance team in a large data platform project, identifying upcoming work and aligning it with organizational goals. โ€ข Communicate the vision and strategy for Data Governance and Data Quality within the project. โ€ข Create, prioritize, and maintain the backlog for Data Governance and Data Quality tasks, ensuring items are well-defined, actionable, and aligned with project objectives. โ€ข Develop and refine user stories with clear requirements and acceptance criteria to guide Data Governance and development teams. โ€ข Act as liaison between stakeholders and the development team, managing stakeholder relationships to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met. โ€ข Facilitate collaboration with other Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. โ€ข Guide cross-functional teams through the entire lifecycle of changeโ€”from uncovering business needs and documenting requirements to validating solutions. โ€ข Lead engaging sessions with stakeholders, craft clear and actionable user stories, and oversee user acceptance testing to ensure every solution delivers real value. โ€ข Monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of features and improvements. Preferred Skills โ€ข 3โ€“5 years of experience in insurance or financial services โ€ข Strong facilitation and leadership skills โ€ข Effective communication across technical and business teams; strong stakeholder management โ€ข Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability โ€ข Skilled in meeting and workshop facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution โ€ข Strong presentation skills, time management, and prioritization abilities Qualifications โ€ข 2โ€“3 years of Business Analyst experience (preferred: 4โ€“5 years) โ€ข In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry โ€ข Experience working with external vendors and agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) โ€ข Strong analytical, project management, and leadership capabilities โ€ข Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills โ€ข Business Analyst certification (CBAP, BABOK) is a plus If this is a role that interests you and youโ€™d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
