Role: Product Owner – AI Location: Phoenix, Arizona Type: Contract Product Owner – AI / Generative AI Products Role Summary We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the development and delivery of AI-powered products and features. The ideal candidate will bridge business needs, customer requirements, data science teams, and engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of AI solutions that create measurable business value. Key Responsibilities • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI initiatives. • Gather, analyze, and prioritize business and user requirements. • Manage and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals. • Translate business needs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, UX designers, and developers throughout the product lifecycle. • Evaluate AI use cases and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and innovation. • Monitor AI model performance, accuracy, adoption, and business impact. • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and stakeholder demonstrations. • Define product KPIs and track success metrics. • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices. • Conduct market research and competitive analysis related to AI technologies. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Data Science, or a related field. • 3–8+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. • Understanding of AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and data-driven products. • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing product backlogs. • Ability to interpret data and make product decisions based on insights. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with AI platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI, AWS AI/ML, or Google Vertex AI. • Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG architectures, AI agents, and model evaluation. • Product certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or Scrum certifications. • Experience launching AI-powered products in production environments.
