Role description
Title: Product Owner Location: Hybrid (Deerfield Beach, FL) Duration: 12 month contract to begin Compensation:$ 45.00 - 50.00/hr Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US Product Owner The Product Owner represents interests of all stakeholders, sponsors, and business users. They ensure that the delivered features meet the user's needs. They are responsible for communicating impact and value of the capability delivered and collaborates closely with the delivery team during planning and review ceremonies providing clarity on requirements for features and stories. The Product Owner has the ultimate responsibility for the priority of items in a release and negotiates with business stakeholders in terms of the scope of those items. Responsibilities: β€’ Acts as the voice of the customer for the product vision. β€’ Is responsible for iteration goals and delivering value to the customer. β€’ Manages the product backlog, organizing items based on value, risk, and dependencies; continuously refines and adjusts backlog priorities to maximize value delivery. β€’ Ensures the voice of the customer shapes key decisions in the organization and ensures the team is clear on the most valuable features. β€’ Engages with the customer, the team and the wider organization to show ongoing product value and success. Obtains feedback from customers and stakeholders and shares feedback with the team. β€’ Serves as a liaison between product team and stakeholders. Representing both customer interests and business requirements, balancing competing demands effectively. Involves regular communication with all stakeholders. β€’ Maintains a short-to-midterm focus on the immediate and upcoming sprints and releases. β€’ Defines, creates and prioritizes user stories, ensuring these stories align with customer needs and business goals. β€’ Documents the feature description and acceptance criteria within the story so that the development team understands the desired outcome and purpose of their work. β€’ Guides story (requirements) creation either by themselves or working with a Business Analyst to ensure that stories are user-centric, clear and concise with well-defined acceptance criteria. β€’ Ensures user stories are crafted for team members to be able to estimate the effort required, thus ensuring it is not too vague, complex or large. β€’ Participates in Scrum events, actively engaging in Scrum ceremonies (including but not limited to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives). β€’ Assesses feedback from users, stakeholders, and provides to team members during retrospective. β€’ Understands customer preferences, pain points, and desires. Continuously explores both internal and external customer needs. β€’ Works closely with Product Manager to maintain alignment between product strategy and implementation. β€’ Responsible for end-to-end delivery of functionality in alignment with the customer needs. β€’ Identify and reduce excess Work in Process (WIP). β€’ Validate/test that the team completes the value expected. β€’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity β€’ Excellent written and oral communication, as well as, strong organizational and presentation skills β€’ High achievement orientation with a willingness to learn β€’ Exhibit a strong desire to understand the organization, its industry, and its strategies β€’ Possess a solid overall understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities β€’ Skillful at applying business and technical skills to drive innovation and performance improvement β€’ Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment β€’ Demonstrated facilitation and meeting management skills β€’ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within and between individuals and cross-functional teams β€’ Must exhibit strong customer service orientation β€’ Ability to influence and motivate individuals and teams to drive mutually beneficial outcomes β€’ Understands and demonstrates the company's core values of Communication, Consideration, Cooperation, Accountability and Innovation Knowledge in multiple of the following is a plus: β€’ MS Azure: Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse β€’ Azure Data Factory/SSIS or related tool β€’ Business visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) Qualifications and Education Requirements: β€’ Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 5+ years of related professional experience. β€’ Experience as Product Owner on an Agile / Scrum team for 3+ years. β€’ Experience working with data warehousing projects is a plus.
