W2 Opportunity – Product Owner (Agile / AWS Modernization) 📍 Remote (Eastern Time Preferred) ⏳ Duration: 12+ Months Contract 🏢 Leading Insurance Client 💼 W2 Only We are seeking a Product Owner to support a large-scale modernization initiative focused on migrating multiple applications to AWS Cloud. This role will work closely with Agile teams, engineering, architecture, and platform stakeholders to drive backlog management, delivery predictability, and successful cloud transformation outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Support two Agile teams within a modernization program focused on AWS cloud migration initiatives. • Own and maintain a well-groomed product backlog, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization. • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to define database-backed capabilities and technical requirements. • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and quarterly planning activities. • Manage dependencies, risks, stakeholder communications, and program alignment across multiple teams. • Track product outcomes, delivery metrics, and team progress while identifying improvement opportunities. • Support AWS modernization efforts by helping define scope, sequencing, release planning, and migration readiness activities. • Partner with Scrum Masters and delivery teams to ensure effective Agile ceremonies and predictable delivery. • Assist with roadmap development, discovery activities, and data-driven decision making. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • 2–4+ years of Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Agile delivery experience supporting Scrum teams. • 5+ years of overall experience in business, technology, consulting, or product-related roles. • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, backlog management, and sprint planning. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-team environment. • Experience translating business and technical requirements into actionable user stories. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting cloud migration or modernization programs. • Familiarity with AWS concepts and cloud-native architectures. • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases. • Knowledge of data quality, performance, availability, and lifecycle requirements. • Insurance industry experience is highly preferred. • Experience with dependency management and cross-team coordination within large programs.
