Role description
Job Title: GenTax Software Engineer (Product Specialist 4)
Experience: 5 years
Location: Columbus, OH (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Key Responsibilities
Implement Tax Logic: Design, code, and test the complex algorithms and formulas that automate tax calculations, deductions, and credits, ensuring they precisely match the current tax regulations
β’ Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Proactively monitor and quickly implement updates to the system's code and databases in response to new tax laws, rate changes, and mandated electronic filing form revisions to ensure continuous compliance.
β’ Ensure Data Security: Build and maintain the application with rigorous security controls, encryption, and data validation to protect highly sensitive financial and tax information from unauthorized access or error.
β’ Collaborate with Tax Experts: Work closely with Tax Accountants and Finance professionals to gather detailed requirements, validate the accuracy of the software's results, and translate complex tax legislation into clear technical specifications.
β’ Strong communication/ leadership skills.
β’ Strong influence, collaboration, and negotiation experience.
β’ Ability to collaborate with supporting resources across business and/or functional lines.
β’ Have excellent oral and written skills/possess strong meeting and work session facilitation skills.
β’ Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines.
β’ Have strong understanding of prioritization stemming from the elicitation of system and/or user requirements.
β’ Have excellent organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
β’ Must be knowledgeable in the English language/speak clearly and understandably use the English language.
Key Skills:
β’ Experience in performing Gentax software development and configuration
β’ Experience with .net framework, C# and SQL Development methodologies
β’ Experience working on a large development team
β’ Ability to solve problems and debug without direction and management involvement
